Ghazel Tellawi, MA, is a therapist at the Louisville OCD Clinic and Behavioral Wellness Counseling Clinic. She is currently a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville. Ghazel graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2009 with a degree in psychology. She completed her Master's degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 2013. She has been trained in empirically-supported cognitive-behavioral techniques, including exposure and ritual prevention (Ex/RP), for the treatment of OCD and other anxiety-related disorders. Ghazel enjoys working with adults of varying ethnic backgrounds, and a wide range of issues including social anxiety, depression, and emotional connectedness.
Ghazel Tellawi is also a research assistant at the Center for Mental Health Disparities in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville, where her work is funded by a University Fellowship. Her research interests include sexual orientation obsessions in OCD and mental health issues in sexual minorities. Ghazel is a member of the International OCD Foundation, Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
