“Jojo” Yao, M.Phil., is a doctoral student therapist at the Louisville OCD Clinic, where she is supervised by Dr. Broderick Sawyer. 

“Jojo” Yao, M.Phil., is a doctoral student therapist at the Louisville OCD Clinic, where she is supervised by Dr. Broderick Sawyer. 

She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at University of Louisville. She received her M.Phil. and M.S.Ed. in Professional Counseling from University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in Psychology and Art from Franklin and Marshall College.

Jojo has past experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity issues. She looks forward to working with individuals with eating disorders and OCD at the Behavioral Wellness Clinic. She is trained in empirically supported interventions including cognitive-behavior therapy and emotion-focused therapy with an interpersonal focus in therapy sessions. Her research interests focus on well-being, identity development, and resilience among international students and other international populations in the U.S.
